The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has recently posted an official denial of the existence of mermaids: “No evidence of aquatic humanoids has ever been found.” This happens at the same time that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has seized the internet domain BelieveInMermaids.com – Exactly what are they trying to hide?

Daily Mail Online — The earthquake that devastated a city in New Zealand tore open a new 11ft faultine in the Earth’s surface. … The quake was caused by the continuing collision between the Pacific and Australian tectonic plates, said Professor Mark Quigley, of Canterbury University. ‘One side of the Earth has lurched to the right … up to 11ft and in some places been thrust up,’ he said. …
…even Gaia, the Earth Mother herself, is lurching to the right as 2010 progresses.

Stone announced yesterday that a 10-hour crash course in the history of the 20th century he is putting together for American TV is designed as an antidote to the inaccuracies and biases he believes exist in the conventional historical narrative dished out in American schools and mainstream media. The title alone gives an inkling of what lies ahead: Oliver Stone’s Secret History of America. … “Hitler is an easy scapegoat throughout history and it’s been used cheaply,” he said. Then he mentioned the S word. “Stalin has a complete other story. Not to paint him as a hero, but to tell a more factual representation. He fought the German war machine more than any person.” Then he went on to mention two M words – Chairman Mao and Joseph McCarthy, architect of the 1950s anti-communist purges in Washington, and the T word – Harry Truman’s dropping of the atom bomb in 1945.
Given the crap we’ve gotten from Oliver Stone in the past over Vietnam, Wall Street, JFK, Nixon, George W. Bush, Fidel Castro, and Hugo Chávez; this hack is the absolute last person (well, OK, maybe Mikey Moore has his beat) to be accusing other people of “inaccuracies and biases”, and to be touting himself as “an antidote”.
