Just Because Low Taxes Cause Terror in THEM…

3 August 2011

(From Hope n’ Change Cartoons. RTWT.)

I for one am sick and tired of being called a terrorist (which is the massively-coordinated MSM/Democrat talking point du jour) from people who are afraid to call actual terrorists “terrorists” … Not to mention by people who actually associate with actual terrorists (Barack Obama and Bill Ayers, just for starters). Sarah Palin points out that “if we were real domestic terrorists, shoot, President Obama would be wanting to pal around with us, wouldn’t he?” It’s disgusting to claim that people who simply want the government to act with responsibility and restraint in regards to the budget and our civil liberties are “terrorists” and “holding the nation hostage” (especially from the so-called self-described “party of civility”), and only serves to prove that Gerald Seymour had it backwards when he said that “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter.”

After listening to Democrat politicians and the Democrat propaganda wing of the mainstream media continue to paint any opposition to higher taxes, higher spending, higher debt, and their Glorious Chairman Obama as “violent,” “extremist,” “racist” and “terrorist;” I think we can be forgiven to be a little leery about Obama’s latest strategy to combat violent extremism. (H/T: WZ)

Local communities, not Washington, are best suited to counter violent extremism, according to a new national strategy the Obama administration took more than a year to produce. The strategy pointedly does not focus on threats from Muslim extremism.

Of course not. And I doubt very much if it focuses on SEIU thugs or Ayers types either.

Bread and Circuses

17 January 2011

InstaPundit has a running series called “Why They’d Rather Talk About Sarah Palin“, listing all of the other stories which the media could be spending a little time telling us about, but won’t. Examples include Investors Have Been Fleeing Municipal Bonds, Unemployment In The U.S. Is Actually Worse Than Pakistan, Soaring Global Food Prices, Over 1 million Americans seen losing homes in 2011, and U.S. On The Way To Losing AAA Credit Rating. (H/T: Spin, Strangeness, and Charm)

Sarah Palin’s Thanksgiving Message

26 November 2010

Facebook — My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…

Of course, the paragraph above is based on a series of misstatements and verbal gaffes made by Barack Obama (I didn’t have enough time to do one for Joe Biden). YouTube links are provided just in case you doubt the accuracy of these all too human slips-of-the-tongue. If you can’t remember hearing about them, that’s because for the most part the media didn’t consider them newsworthy. I have no complaint about that. Everybody makes the occasional verbal gaffe – even news anchors.

Obviously, I would have been even more impressed if the media showed some consistency on this issue. Unfortunately, it seems they couldn’t resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline. The one word slip occurred yesterday during one of my seven back-to-back interviews wherein I was privileged to speak to the American public about the important, world-changing issues before us.

If the media had bothered to actually listen to all of my remarks on Glenn Beck’s radio show, they would have noticed that I refer to South Korea as our ally throughout, that I corrected myself seconds after my slip-of-the-tongue, and that I made it abundantly clear that pressure should be put on China to restrict energy exports to the North Korean regime. The media could even have done due diligence and checked my previous statements on the subject, which have always been consistent, and in fact even ahead of the curve. But why let the facts get in the way of a good story? (And for that matter, why not just make up stories out of thin air – like the totally false hard news story which has run for three days now reporting that I lobbied the producers of “Dancing with the Stars” to cast a former Senate candidate on their show. That lie is further clear proof that the media completely makes things up without doing even rudimentary fact-checking.)

“Hope springs eternal” as the poet says. Let’s hope that perhaps, just maybe, they might get it right next time. When we the people are effective in holding America’s free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Attack of the 50-Foot Sarahcuda

8 November 2010

Mother Jones magazine’s latest cover is designed to cast Sarah Palin in the role of a terrifying monster (H/T: WeaselZippers), but only succeeds in making her look hawt.

45: Palin

13 May 2010

The HillBuzz boys have pictures, video, and their commentary after seeing Governor Palin deliver one helluva (2012 campaign) speech in Chicago. The speech, delivered without teleprompters (this wasn’t a sixth grade classroom, after all), is filled with bon mots like her observation that Obama, when running for reelection in 2012, will have something he’s never had before: an actual record of achievements (which she dissects with glee).

Palin by Comparison

22 February 2010

Updates have been light recently as work and my personal life take up more of my time, but I’m still trying to at least keep up with the news… if only so that I know what’s really happening, as opposed to what my liberal friends are saying. Sarah Palin has been back in the media with appearances on FOX and her speeches to CPAC and the Tea Party, so naturally she’s receiving plenty of argumentum ad feminem attacks from the left who can’t be bothered to listen to what she’s actually saying, much less honestly respond to what she’s saying. In addition to the “she’s so dumb” stereotypes that are thrown against all conservatives (because in their eyes, by definition, anybody intelligent would have to be a liberal and vice versa) are the continuing comments about her “experience” or lack thereof. Here’s a news flash:

People also keep saying that “she won’t actually run in 2012” or, if she does, “she can’t possibly win.” Clearly, the left does not believe either of these statements, or else they wouldn’t be making her the star of their daily five minute hate sessions. If they really thought that she couldn’t possibly win, they’d be doing everything in their power to make sure that she was the GOP nominee… you know, like they did with guaranteed loser John McCain.

Other Headlines

27 January 2010

Poll: Fox Most Trusted Name in News (Politico) — “A Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters Jan. 18-19 found that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.” Amazing how large that raaaaacist fringe of Obama-haters is, isn’t it? So much for the White House trying to marginalize and kill Fox News.

Queens Clinic A1 Medicine Probed after Alexandra Nunez is Fatally Injured while Undergoing Abortion (NY Daily News) — The article makes no mention whatsoever about any previous similar incidents; it would be informative to know how often this sort of thing happens or a total mortality figure. In any event, since she wasn’t killed by a tea-bagging abortion bomber, expect this to be a “nontroversy”. (While we’re on the issue, check out Zombie’s latest photo essay: San Francisco(!) hosted a rally on the hot-button topic of abortion, and pro-lifers outnumbered pro-choicers 500-to-1.)

Send California Inmates to Mexico, Says Schwarzenegger (AFP) — Now there’s a biased headline, since the very first paragraph of the story makes clear that the Governator is only referring to “undocumented inmates”; which are only referred by their more honest name, “illegal immigrants”, a bit further down. It’s an interesting idea, provided we can trust the Mexican authorities not to release some of the inmates and give them a ride back up to the Gringo Border; but the sort of idea that is only born out of fiscal desperation in California. (At least the completely busted state is no longer trying to tell other states how to run their business.)

Serious Trouble for Obama

11 January 2010

He’s no longer the only one who rides around on mythical creatures in questionable artwork. Sarah Palin was only one point behind Obama in recent polls, and now she’s gained a point in the form of this unicorn moose (I have no idea what you’d even call that). Artist: ming85.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs…

4 January 2010

It wasn’t just Al Gore’s global warming that’s responsible for all of the snow jobs coming out of DC and blanketing the rest of us. Here’s a recap (H/T: Gateway Pundit) of the arguments leading up to the passage of the  Stimulus  Porkulus bill that was supposed to save us from double-digit unemployment, was much too important to be actually read before passage (like ObamaCare), and resulted in Barack Obama losing more jobs in 2009 than any president in modern history.

You may recall that billions of dollars of “stimulus” were spent creating jobs in Congressional districts that did not even exist. Well, it turns out that those dollars spent and jobs created are also happening in non-existent zip codes (H/T: Hot Air). It’s almost like the Obama Administration expects the mainstream media to completely neglect any fact-checking of their figures (too busy with Palin’s book), or to report any obvious discrepancies that anyone else finds. It’s not just that this is the most dishonest and corrupt administration ever, but that they don’t even bother trying to hide the fact.

Anal extraction: where Obama gets his figures on jobs and spending.

Tori Amos Will Run as a Republican if Sarah Palin Does

28 December 2009

Apparently starved for attention, singer-songwriter-victim-of-society Tori Amos, who needs  no  quite a bit of introduction to the C² regulars discussing this, announced:

(ANI) “If Palin runs again, I’m going to run on a Republican ticket. What I know about Middle Eastern policy could fit on a thumbnail, but I still know more than she does. …”

At least she’s honest about her own ignorance, even if she’s bought into the common if completely inaccurate Palin-as-moron MSM meme. Good luck for her even getting onto a Republican ticket, mind you; but if she ever did, then she’d just split the leftist vote with whoever was running on the Democratic ticket, leaving the way clear for a conservative third-party candidate. She’s certainly a stranger to irony, as she continued with “You have to ask, how could a nation nearly vote in somebody who isn’t qualified for the job?” before singing (if such a verb can be applied to her warbling) the praises of Failure-in-Chief Barack “I’ll give myself a B+ even if no one else will” Obama…

The Spark hitmaker insists she feels more positive about the future of the country with US President Barack Obama. “I’m a lot more hopeful. The [George W.] Bush years were really difficult times if you were an American who loved your country,” she said.

Whereas the current year has just been hunky-dory for all of those Americans who have lost their jobs, and the rest of us who are looking forward to a drastic rise in the withholdings from our paychecks at the expiration of the Bush tax cuts as well as the massive hit we’ll all incur over ObamaCare and all of the other redistribute-the-wealth schemes of the kleptocrats currently running the USA. Still, it’s not like yet another well-paid performer with no contact with the real world has to worry about such trivialities; that’s for the proles to concern themselves with.

“Having someone now that so many people respect doesn’t mean there aren’t going to be problems, but so many problems have been left behind,” she added.

Seems like she hasn’t been paying any attention to the polls either, wrapped up in her fact-free liberal cocoon. Miz Amos is but the latest, and certainly not the last, who needs “Just shut up and sing” tattooed across her body somewhere.

Clash of the Titans

11 December 2009

First Shatner did Palin… Then she returned the compliment. (H/T: Hot Air) Still, I don’t think Kirk has ever objected to a woman coming up on top.
