Isn’t Squealing Like a Pig Haram?

3 October 2011

“I can’t think of an age group right now that feels happy. And this president, I think comes across as a bit debonaire. Casual’s not a fair word, but a bit breezy for the mood of the country. The country wants somebody – the first thing they want before they want deliverance and a future, they want somebody whose [sic] with them in the present. …” —MSNBC host Chris Matthews (H/T: WeaselZippers) [emphasis added]

We don’t want Deliverance, but we’re certainly getting it. I’ve been hearing the banjos and canoeing faster since 2008.

Yes, I Know It Should Be “Fewer”

29 September 2011

With the popularity of the President and his party in the toilet, with the possibility of the Republicans not only taking the White House but also the Senate as well next year, the mask continues to slip off of the would-be tyrants and commissars of the Democrat Party. They have never had anything but contempt for the American people, have always thought that they knew best how to control our lives, resent the Constitution standing in the way of their agenda, and detest the fact that they need to be accountable to the voters who are too stupid to act as the MSM tells them to do.

“I’d like to work my way around Congress.” –President Barack Obama (D)

“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years…” –Governor Beverly Perdue (D-NC)

“We need less democracy.” –Peter Orszag, former Obama OMB director

We do not need less democracy. We need less Democrats.

I Couldn’t Resist

I see people are still talking about Bill Clinton’s alleged vegan conversion, but I have yet to see anyone point out that he’s always had someone to eat his meat for him.

Ass-ploding Hypocricy

Why do conservatives always have to brand people traitors? Why can’t they just say “You’re mistaken”?Maureen Dowd

Please, tell us again that we’re all terrorists and hostage takers. I miss the civility.

“I must confess, when I see anyone with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker, I recognize them as a threat to the gene pool.”
— Representative Allen West (R-FL) (H/T: WZ)

When I’m driving, I naturally profile potential threats and keep my distance from them. I never allow drivers who are unable to stay in their lanes to get close to me, I never let myself get stuck behind people who like to hit their brakes at random even when the lights are green and there’s nobody in front of them, and I consider anybody with an Obama 2012 bumper sticker to have two strikes against them. (You get one strike if you’re driving a Prius. Not just any hybrid, but specifically a Prius; because Prius drivers have earned a reputation, in these parts, at least, for driving like idiots and assholes.)

Global Warming: Fact, Fraud, or Fabulous?

18 December 2010

Today’s best headline ever comes from The Register: “Samoan Clerics Finger Homosexuals Over Global Warming”:

Clerics in the South Pacific have fingered the key cause of climate change – homosexuals. The revelation came at a conference at the University of the South Pacific considering the implications of Climate Change and Creativity.

I wonder if they suffered from the Gore Effect like the Cancun conference?

Academics were apparently thrown off their consideration of “Arts in the Age of Global Warming” and “Ecology in Poetry / Poetry in Ecology” by reports of Church Ministers who maintained that climate change in Samoa are clearly attributable to to homosexuals. …

Arts and poetry. Yeah, that’ll save the planet.

… Details of exactly how the ministers think homosexuals are pumping more CO2 into the atmosphere, thereby trapping heat around the planet, driving up the average temperature and causing massive economic and environmental dislocation are scant.

I’m going to guess that this is all a wacky sitcom misunderstanding, brought about when one of the clerics heard that some homosexuals are “flaming”. (more…)

“The Aristocrats!”

15 September 2010

The more I watch the Democrats flailing around, dismantling our economy and defense, passing horrendous legislation without even reading it, lying, dodging meetings with angry constituents, projecting all of their schemes and crimes onto their opponents, attacking anyone who disagrees with them, corrupting every branch and department of the government into which they sink their tentacles, using the Constitution for toilet paper, and so forth… I’m just waiting for the moment when they all turn to the C-Span cameras and shout out the punch line in unison.

Racists.

I drove past the Mexican Embassy in Washington DC tonight.

I couldn’t help noticing the fence, barbed wire, and other security features designed to keep people out who don’t belong there.

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” Theodore Roosevelt
