Michigan: “Two former leaders of the Oakland County Democratic Party are facing a total of nine felonies for allegedly forging election paperwork to get fake Tea Party candidates on November’s ballot.” (H/T: Weasel Zippers) The two great things about this new item, and the one that follows, is that their attempt failed, and that legal action is actually being brought against the alleged attempted perpetrators of Grand Theft: Democracy. (Also, that these are state charges, not federal; or else the DOJ would have already killed these investigations.)
Nevada: Rory Reid, the son of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) – who, like Hillary Clinton during her run for the Senate, was afraid to use his last name during the campaign – is under investigation for “creating 90 different PACs to circumvent campaign contribution limits” (H/T: Weasel Zippers). It didn’t help Rory, who still lost the Nevada gubernatorial race; but it shows that he takes after his father in both honesty and intelligence given that “The red flag for [Nevada Secretary of State Ross] Miller was the fact [Rory] Reid set up 90 political action committees all registered at the same Las Vegas address.“
Wisconsin: The Democrat fleebaggers’ attempt to ignore the 2010 elections failed (Whatever happened to “we won” and “elections have consequences”? As always, these things only apply to Republicans), so now the Democrats are attempting to overturn the 2010 election results by recalling as many Republicans as possible. To be fair, there are also recall movements against some Democrats as well; but, again to be fair, the Democrats in question were guilty of contempt of the Senate and dereliction of duty when they ran and hid in a neighboring state. In any event, both sides are collecting signatures for recall petitions, but only one side (the side without the union thugs) is playing by the rules.
(620 WTMG) Leader Kim Simac and volunteers for the Recall Jim Holperin Committee will hold a press conference tomorrow at 12:00 pm at the Lincoln County Courthouse. This is the location of the conflict between Recall Petition Signers and Union Protesters last Thursday, March 10, 2011. The petition rally was originally scheduled at a local Merrill restaurant but was relocated after the proprietors received many phone calls and felt they needed to back out.¹ The committee then set up in front of the Lincoln County Courthouse to offer citizens an opportunity to sign their names to the petition. Over 1,000 calls had been sent out the previous day notifying area residents of the petition rally. Upon arrival, members of the recall committee were encircled by union protesters carrying signs and a leader with a mega phone who began chanting and ranting loudly. They packed in tightly around the petition collection table so as to prevent those attempting to sign from doing so. At one point, a pro union protester, pretending to be interested in signing the petition, wrote profanity across a partially collected petition form, than began ripping up the completed petitions that were in close proximity. The policemen who were there, and who were standing in close proximity to these events as they unfolded, did nothing to assist those collecting the petitions as they were being destroyed, despite such an action being a Felony under Wisconsin law. Police also did nothing to clear the walk way for citizens that wanted to sign the petitions. Recall Committee members received many phone calls the following day from Merill area citizens who stated that they showed up to sign the petition, but were too afraid to get out of their vehicles and approach the recall table. Kim Simac, leader of the recall effort, who has also received numerous personal threats, has now declared that enough is enough. “Tomorrow we begin taking the necessary steps to put a stop to this kind of behavior.” Simac stated. She went on to say: “The people of the 12th District of Wisconsin can not and will not allow this thuggery and bullying to continue. As honorable citizens, I believe we all have an obligation to stand up for the rule of law, which is why I am taking this action.” (H/T: Weasel Zippers)
Note that not just politicians, but businesses and individuals who’ve supported Governor Walker and the GOP in Wisconsin have been targeted with vandalism and threats. Note also that this is just the latest incident wherein Wisconsin police officers have stood by and let union thugs (or should I say, “other union thugs”) and other pro-union “activists” break the law with impunity. It’s well known where their sympathies lie, and they need to also face consequences for dereliction of duty.
